  • Mayonnaise
  • Worcestershire Sauce

How to Make Bacon Cheeseburger Meatloaf

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine 1.5 lbs ground beef, 0.5 lbs ground pork, 1 cup finely chopped onion, 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 6 slices cooked and crumbled bacon, 1/2 cup bread crumbs, 1/4 cup milk, 1 large egg, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. Mix thoroughly.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup ketchup and 2 tablespoons yellow mustard.
  4. Stir 1/4 cup of the ketchup-mustard mixture into the meat mixture, reserving the remaining mixture.
  5. Press the meat mixture into a greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan, or shape into a loaf and place on a wire rack set inside a roasting pan.
  6. Spread the remaining ketchup-mustard mixture evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Top with 1 cup French fried onions.
  9. Bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) and the meat is no longer pink.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
