  2. Core a medium apple (about 2-3 inches in diameter) leaving the bottom intact. Place the apple in a small, oven-safe dish.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together 1 tablespoon of water or apple juice.
  4. Pour the liquid into the bottom of the oven-safe dish, under the apple.
  5. In the center of the cored apple, layer: 1 teaspoon of brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon raisins.
  6. Sprinkle any remaining brown sugar over the top of the apple.
  7. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil.
