Ingredients for Barbara S Chinese Noodle Salad

  • Vermicelli
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • Hot Chili Oil
  • White Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • Green Onion
  • Carrot

How to Make Barbara S Chinese Noodle Salad

  1. Cook 8 ounces of pasta according to package directions. Drain well and rinse with cold water to cool quickly.
  2. While pasta cooks, prepare the dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup soy sauce, 2 tablespoons rice vinegar, 2 tablespoons sesame oil, 1 tablespoon sugar, and 1 teaspoon grated ginger until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  3. Add the cooked and cooled pasta to a large bowl. Pour the dressing over the noodles and gently toss with your hands until evenly coated.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably longer, stirring occasionally to allow the flavors to meld and the noodles to absorb the dressing.
  5. Before serving, add 1/4 cup chopped carrots, 2 tablespoons chopped green onions, and 1 tablespoon sesame seeds. Gently toss to combine.
  6. Serve chilled and enjoy! This is a wonderful side dish to recipe #93520.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Small additions can make a big impact! Try a sprinkle of fresh herbs, a dash of your favorite spice blend, or a squeeze of citrus just before serving to really enhance the flavors of your dish.
