How to Make Barbecued Red Roast Pork Tenderloin
- In a large bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup soy sauce, 2 tablespoons red wine, 2 tablespoons honey, 1 tablespoon sugar, a few drops of red food coloring (to taste), 2 cloves crushed garlic, and 1/2 shallot, thinly sliced.
- Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon over the marinade. Add the pork tenderloin (approximately 1.5 lbs), ensuring it's fully coated. Marinate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight in the refrigerator, turning occasionally.
- Remove the pork tenderloin from the marinade, reserving the marinade.
- Place the pork tenderloin on a wire rack set over a baking dish to catch drippings.
- Bake in a preheated moderate oven (350°F/175°C) for 30 minutes, turning frequently with tongs and basting generously with the reserved marinade. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
- Remove from the oven, place on a cutting board, and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
- Cut the pork into diagonal slices and serve. Enjoy!
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Small additions can make a big impact! Try a sprinkle of fresh herbs, a dash of your favorite spice blend, or a squeeze of citrus just before serving to really enhance the flavors of your dish.
