How to Make Bean Bob
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Dice 4 slices of bacon and cook in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove bacon with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain.
- Add 1 medium onion, diced, to the bacon grease in the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine: 1 (15-ounce) can of kidney beans (drained and rinsed), 1 (15-ounce) can of pinto beans (drained and rinsed), 1 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce, 1/2 cup of chicken broth, 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper, and the cooked bacon.
- Stir gently to combine all ingredients.
- Pour the bean mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until heated through and bubbly. (Optional: During the last 10 minutes of baking, add 2 sliced hot dogs for extra flavor).
