How to Make Beef Broccoli Calzone Oamc
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain any excess grease.
- Add olive oil to the skillet, then add broccoli florets. Cook until tender-crisp, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in pizza sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in mozzarella cheese until melted.
- Roll out pizza dough into a 9x13 inch rectangle.
- Spoon the beef and broccoli mixture onto one half of the dough, leaving a 1-inch border.
- Fold the other half of the dough over the filling, pressing firmly to seal the edges. Crimp the edges with a fork.
- Lightly spray a baking sheet with cooking spray. Place the calzone on the prepared baking sheet.
- Lightly spray the calzone with cooking spray and wrap tightly in plastic wrap, then in foil.
- Freeze until solid (at least 2 hours).
- To bake from frozen: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Thaw calzone in the refrigerator overnight.
- Remove plastic wrap and foil. Place on a baking sheet and loosely cover with plastic wrap to prevent drying.
- Bake for 20-30 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. If baking from frozen, add 10-15 minutes to the baking time.
- Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
