Ingredients for Beef Potatoes Beans

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • Frozen Hash Brown Potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Cream Of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 (15 ounce) can green beans, drained
  • Onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Cheddar Cheese
  • Salt & Pepper

How to Make Beef Potatoes Beans

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add 1 pound of small potatoes, cut into 1-inch pieces, and cook for 8 minutes, turning halfway through, until lightly browned.
  4. Remove potatoes from skillet and set aside.
  5. Add 1 pound of ground beef to the skillet and sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of garlic powder. Brown the beef, breaking it up with a spoon, for 5-7 minutes.
  6. Add 1/2 cup chopped onion to the skillet and cook for another 2 minutes, until softened.
  7. Drain off any excess grease.
  8. In a large bowl, combine the cooked ground beef, 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup, 1 (15 ounce) can of green beans, drained, and 1/4 cup of beef broth. Mix well.
  9. Pour the beef mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  10. Spread the cooked potatoes evenly over the top of the meat and bean mixture.
  11. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the potatoes.
  12. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the casserole is heated through.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
