Ingredients for Beefy Tomato Sandwiches

  • 4 slices bacon
  • Sun Dried Tomatoes Packed In Oil
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Kaiser Rolls
  • 12-16 ounces thinly sliced roast beef
  • Provolone Cheese

How to Make Beefy Tomato Sandwiches

  1. Cook 4 slices bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp, about 8 minutes.
  2. Remove bacon and drain on paper towels. Break each slice in half.
  3. While bacon cooks, puree 1 (28 ounce) can of whole peeled tomatoes with 1 tablespoon of their reserved oil in a blender until mostly smooth.
  4. In a medium bowl, mix the tomato puree with 1/2 cup mayonnaise and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
  5. Spread half of the tomato mixture on the bottom halves of 4 hamburger buns.
  6. Top each bun with 3-4 ounces thinly sliced roast beef, 3 pieces of bacon, and 1 slice of provolone cheese.
  7. Preheat an outdoor grill or grill pan to medium-low heat.
  8. Place the sandwiches (bottom halves down) and the bun tops on the preheated grill.
  9. Cover and cook for 5 minutes, or until the rolls are toasted and the cheese is melted and the meat is heated through.
  10. Spread the remaining tomato mixture on the top bun halves.
  11. Place the top halves on the sandwiches and serve immediately.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Small additions can make a big impact! Try a sprinkle of fresh herbs, a dash of your favorite spice blend, or a squeeze of citrus just before serving to really enhance the flavors of your dish.
