  1. Brown 1 lb ground beef and 1/2 lb ground pork in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Break up the meat as it browns.

  7. Add 2 cups cooked pinto beans (prepared from a leftover ham bone, instructions below) during the last 30 minutes of cooking time.
