How to Make Mini Burritos

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown 1 lb ground beef over medium-high heat. Add 1/2 medium onion (chopped), 1/2 green bell pepper (chopped), and 2 cloves garlic (minced) during the last half of the browning process.
  3. Once the meat is browned, stir in 1 packet taco seasoning, 1 teaspoon ground cumin, 1/2 cup salsa, and 2-4 tablespoons water. Simmer over medium heat until the liquid is absorbed and the mixture is slightly dry.
  4. Remove the meat mixture from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
  5. Lay out 12-18 wonton wrappers on a clean surface. Place a small pinch (about 1/2 teaspoon) of shredded cheddar cheese and 1 level tablespoon of the meat mixture into the center of each wrapper.
  6. Lightly wet two opposite edges of each wonton wrapper with water using your finger.
  7. Fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle or rectangle, pressing the edges firmly to seal. Do not overfill!
  8. Place the filled wontons onto a greased baking sheet or jelly roll pan.
  9. Repeat steps 5-8 until all the meat mixture is used.
  10. Bake for 10 minutes.
  11. Remove from the oven, sprinkle 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese over the top, and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the wontons are golden brown and crispy.
  12. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
