Ingredients for Stove Top Bbq Beef Or Pork Ribs

  • Beef Ribs
  • Onion
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • Water
  • Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • Mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Vegetable Oil

How to Make Stove Top Bbq Beef Or Pork Ribs

  1. Cut ribs into approximately 2-inch serving size pieces.
  2. Season ribs generously with salt and pepper.
  3. In a large Dutch oven, brown the ribs in 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium heat. Brown on all sides, working in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the pot.
  4. Remove ribs from the pot and set aside.
  5. Add 1 large chopped onion to the Dutch oven and sauté until lightly browned, about 5 minutes.
  6. Return the ribs to the pot.
  7. In a separate bowl, whisk together the following ingredients: 1 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce, 1/2 cup ketchup, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
  8. Pour the sauce mixture over the ribs in the Dutch oven.
  9. Add 1 cup of beef broth or water to the pot.
  10. Cover the Dutch oven and cook over low heat for approximately 2 hours, or until the ribs are fork-tender, stirring occasionally. Add more liquid if needed to prevent sticking.
  11. Once tender, remove the lid and simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken slightly.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Small additions can make a big impact! Try a sprinkle of fresh herbs, a dash of your favorite spice blend, or a squeeze of citrus just before serving to really enhance the flavors of your dish.
