Ingredients for Bacon Waffles

  • 6 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
  • All Purpose Flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cups milk (whole milk recommended)
  • Unsalted Butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • Maple Syrup

How to Make Bacon Waffles

  1. Cook 6 slices of bacon until crisp. Remove from pan, drain on paper towels, and crumble.
  2. Preheat your electric waffle iron according to manufacturer's instructions.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, 2 teaspoons baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 3/4 cups milk, 1/4 cup melted unsalted butter, and 2 large eggs.
  5. Gently pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, whisking until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Lightly grease the preheated waffle iron with cooking spray.
  7. Pour about 1/3 cup of batter onto the center of the hot waffle iron. Sprinkle 1/8 of the crumbled bacon evenly over the batter.
  8. Close the waffle iron and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions, until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Carefully remove the waffle from the iron and repeat steps 7 and 8 with the remaining batter and bacon.
  10. Serve immediately with warm maple syrup. Enjoy!

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Elevate your dish with simple flavor boosters! A final flourish of freshly chopped herbs can add incredible brightness, while a squeeze of lemon or lime juice right before serving can awaken all the flavors. Don't underestimate a sprinkle of quality finishing salt or a drizzle of good olive oil to make your creation shine.
