Ingredients for Baked Cheese Broccoli Patties

  • Vegetable Oil
  • Garlic Cloves
  • Onion
  • Frozen Broccoli
  • Panko Breadcrumbs
  • Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Baked Cheese Broccoli Patties

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and lightly grease it.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a small pan over medium heat. Add 2 cloves of minced garlic and 1/2 cup of chopped onion.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Sauté until the onions and garlic are tender, about 5 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  4. Steam or microwave 1 large head of broccoli until tender-crisp. Once cooled slightly, wrap the broccoli in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out as much excess moisture as possible.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the squeezed broccoli, sautéed onion and garlic mixture, 1 cup panko breadcrumbs, 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 2 large eggs, and salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Mix gently until well combined. Form the mixture into 8-10 patties.
  7. Place the patties on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes.
  9. Flip the patties and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  10. Serve hot and enjoy!

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Small additions can make a big impact! Try a sprinkle of fresh herbs, a dash of your favorite spice blend, or a squeeze of citrus just before serving to really enhance the flavors of your dish.
