How to Make Baked Pasta With White Mushroom Sauce
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add 1 medium onion, 2 spring onions (chopped), and 2 cloves garlic (minced) and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle in 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually whisk in 2 cups of milk, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add 8 ounces of sliced white mushrooms and cook until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in 4 ounces of diced ham or Italian sausage (cooked and crumbled). Simmer for 2 minutes. Lightly brush a 9x13 inch baking dish with olive oil.
- Spread half of the mushroom sauce in the prepared baking dish. Top with half of the cooked ham or sausage.
