  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

How to Make Spinach Beef Spaghetti Pie

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook 1 pound spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Drain well and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together 2 large eggs and 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese. Add the cooked spaghetti and gently mix.
  4. Grease a 9-inch deep-dish pie plate. Press the spaghetti mixture into the bottom and up the sides of the pie plate, forming a crust.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, brown 1 pound ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  7. Add 1/2 cup chopped onion and 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper to the skillet. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  8. Stir in 1 (24-ounce) jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, 1/2 teaspoon dried basil, and salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Bring to a simmer, reduce heat, and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  10. While the sauce simmers, place 4 ounces cream cheese between two sheets of waxed paper and roll out to a 7-inch circle.
  11. Carefully place the cream cheese circle on top of the partially baked spaghetti crust.
  12. Spread the cooked beef and vegetable sauce evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  13. Top with 5 ounces fresh spinach (about 2 cups packed), and 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese.
  14. Bake for 20-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and the filling is heated through. Let cool slightly before serving.
