Ingredients for Absolutely Fabulous Granola Bars

  • Whole Oats
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans, etc.)
  • All Purpose Flour
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Eggs
  • Corn Syrup
  • Cooking Oil
  • Dark Brown Sugar

How to Make Absolutely Fabulous Granola Bars

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with tin foil, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
  3. Lightly grease the foil with cooking spray or butter.
  4. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients until thoroughly mixed.
  5. Press the mixture evenly into the prepared pan.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and set. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out with just a few moist crumbs attached.
  7. Carefully remove the pan from the oven and let it cool slightly (about 10 minutes).
  8. Using the foil overhang, lift the granola bars out of the pan and place them on a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Once completely cool, remove the foil and cut into bars. Wrap individually for easy grab-and-go snacks or breakfasts.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
