Ingredients for Apple Lasagna

  • Lasagna Noodles
  • Two (15 ounce) cans apple pie filling
  • Part Skim Ricotta Cheese
  • Egg Substitute
  • Almond Extract
  • Sugar
  • Flour
  • Cinnamon
  • Butter
  • Brown Sugar
  • Sour cream (optional, for serving)

How to Make Apple Lasagna

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  3. Grease a 9x13x2-inch baking pan.
  4. Spread one (15 ounce) can of apple pie filling into the prepared pan, slicing any extra-thick apple pieces to ensure even distribution.
  5. Layer 4 pieces of cooked lasagna over the apple filling.
  6. In a medium bowl, mix together the following cheese filling ingredients: 1 (8 ounce) package of cream cheese (softened), 1/2 cup milk, 1/4 cup brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  7. Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the lasagna layer.
  8. Top with the remaining 4 pieces of cooked lasagna.
  9. Spoon the remaining (15 ounce) can of apple pie filling over the top layer of lasagna.
  10. In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter (cut into small pieces), and 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Use your fingers or a pastry blender to crumble the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  11. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apple filling.
  12. Bake for 45 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
  13. Let the lasagna stand for 15 minutes before cutting and serving.
  14. Serve warm, optionally with a dollop of sour cream or vanilla ice cream.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Small additions can make a big impact! Try a sprinkle of fresh herbs, a dash of your favorite spice blend, or a squeeze of citrus just before serving to really enhance the flavors of your dish.
