  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

How to Make A Very Special Lasagna

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, eggs, and Parmesan cheese. Mix well.
  6. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  7. Layer 3-4 lasagna noodles over the sauce.
  8. Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
  9. Top with another layer of meat sauce and then another 3-4 lasagna noodles.
  10. Spread the remaining ricotta mixture over the noodles, followed by the remaining meat sauce.
  11. Top with the mozzarella cheese.
  12. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  13. Remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the lasagna is heated through.
  14. Let stand for 10-15 minutes before serving.
