- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- pinch of ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons water
- Brie Cheese
How to Make Apple Walnut And Brie Omelette For Two
- Dice 1 medium apple (about 1 cup). Chop 1/4 cup walnuts.
- In a 10-inch nonstick skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.
- Add the diced apples, walnuts, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Sauté for 3-4 minutes, until apples are softened but still hold their shape.
- Remove the apple-walnut mixture from the skillet and set aside, keeping warm.
- Melt the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter in the same skillet. In a bowl, whisk together 4 large eggs and 2 tablespoons of water.
- Pour the egg mixture into the skillet.
- Tilt and rotate the pan gently as the eggs cook, allowing uncooked egg to flow underneath.
- Once the eggs are mostly set but still slightly wet on top, add the apple-walnut mixture to one half of the omelette. Top with 4 ounces sliced brie cheese.
- Fold the uncovered portion of the omelette over the filling.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the omelette is heated through.
- Using a plastic spatula, carefully cut the omelette in half and serve immediately.
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
