Ingredients for Artichoke Garlic Bread
- French Baguette
- Garlic Cloves
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 4 tablespoons butter
- ½ cup sour cream
- Monterey Jack Cheese
- Parmesan Cheese
- Fresh Parsley
- 1 teaspoon lemon pepper
- 1 (14-ounce) can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
- Shredded Cheddar Cheese
How to Make Artichoke Garlic Bread
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cut two baguettes in half lengthwise.
- Gently scoop out the soft inside of each baguette half, leaving a ½-inch border. Reserve the scooped-out bread.
- Melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 4 cloves of minced garlic and 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds. Sauté for 2 minutes, or until fragrant and softened – do not brown.
- Add the reserved baguette pieces to the skillet and sauté until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the skillet from the heat. Stir in ½ cup sour cream, 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese, ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese, ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley, 1 teaspoon lemon pepper, and 1 (14-ounce) can of artichoke hearts, drained and chopped.
- Arrange the baguette shells on a baking sheet.
- Fill each baguette shell generously with the artichoke mixture.
- Sprinkle the top of each filled baguette with ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and heated through.
- Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Chef's secret: layers of flavor make a dish truly memorable! Consider what a little extra something could bring – perhaps a touch of acidity like a good vinegar or citrus zest, a hint of smokiness from paprika, a bit of umami from mushrooms or soy sauce, or a sprinkle of toasted nuts for texture. Experiment and taste as you go!
