Ingredients for Artichoke Garlic Bread

  • French Baguette
  • Garlic Cloves
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • Monterey Jack Cheese
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Fresh Parsley
  • 1 teaspoon lemon pepper
  • 1 (14-ounce) can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese

How to Make Artichoke Garlic Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut two baguettes in half lengthwise.
  3. Gently scoop out the soft inside of each baguette half, leaving a ½-inch border. Reserve the scooped-out bread.
  4. Melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 4 cloves of minced garlic and 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds. Sauté for 2 minutes, or until fragrant and softened – do not brown.
  5. Add the reserved baguette pieces to the skillet and sauté until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Remove the skillet from the heat. Stir in ½ cup sour cream, 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese, ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese, ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley, 1 teaspoon lemon pepper, and 1 (14-ounce) can of artichoke hearts, drained and chopped.
  7. Arrange the baguette shells on a baking sheet.
  8. Fill each baguette shell generously with the artichoke mixture.
  9. Sprinkle the top of each filled baguette with ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and heated through.
  11. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Chef's secret: layers of flavor make a dish truly memorable! Consider what a little extra something could bring – perhaps a touch of acidity like a good vinegar or citrus zest, a hint of smokiness from paprika, a bit of umami from mushrooms or soy sauce, or a sprinkle of toasted nuts for texture. Experiment and taste as you go!
