How to Make Aussie Sausage Roll
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a large bowl, gently combine the sausage meat, onion, and Worcestershire sauce. Season generously with salt and pepper.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to a 40cm x 30cm rectangle.
- Spread the sausage mixture evenly over the pastry, leaving a 2cm border.
- Tightly roll the pastry into a log, starting from the long edge.
- Use a sharp knife to cut the log into 18 equal slices.
- Place the sausage rolls onto a baking tray lined with baking paper.
- Beat the egg yolk with a teaspoon of water, and brush the rolls with the egg wash for a golden brown finish.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Let cool slightly before serving with your favorite tomato sauce.
