How to Make Baked Chicken That Makes Its Own Gravy

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan with cooking spray or 1 tablespoon of butter.
  3. Coat 4 lbs of chicken pieces (thighs, breasts, or a combination) lightly and evenly with 1/2 cup all-purpose flour.
  4. Melt 4 tablespoons of butter in the prepared baking dish.
  5. Arrange the chicken in a single layer, skin-side down, in the melted butter.
  6. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
