- In a large saucepan, combine 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes, 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce, 1 medium onion (chopped), 2 cloves garlic (minced), 1 green bell pepper (chopped), 1/2 cup dry red wine, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, 1 teaspoon dried basil, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
