How to Make Basil And Cheese Torta
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease 6 or 10 (6 or 10 oz) custard cups.
- In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, eggs, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Spoon the mixture evenly into the prepared custard cups, filling each about ¾ full.
- Place the custard cups in a larger baking pan. Pour enough hot water into the baking pan to come halfway up the sides of the custard cups (this creates a water bath for even cooking).
- Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the center is set and the edges are lightly golden brown. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean.
- Let the tortas cool completely in the cups before removing. Once cool, cover and freeze for up to 3 months.
- To reheat from frozen: remove from freezer 30 min before reheating. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until heated through. Alternatively, microwave individually until heated.
