Ingredients for Beets

  • 1 pound fresh beets
  • Water for washing
  • Sugar
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Salt

How to Make Beets

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wash and scrub 1 pound of beets thoroughly. Trim off the stems and root ends.
  3. Lightly oil a baking sheet. Arrange the beets on the baking sheet.
  4. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of olive oil over the beets. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 teaspoon of dried thyme, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  5. Roast for 45-60 minutes, or until a fork easily pierces the beets. Smaller beets will cook faster.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Once cool enough to handle, peel the beets under cold running water.
  7. Dice the beets into bite-sized pieces (or leave whole, depending on preference). Serve warm or cold.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Small additions can make a big impact! Try a sprinkle of fresh herbs, a dash of your favorite spice blend, or a squeeze of citrus just before serving to really enhance the flavors of your dish.
