How to Make Cajun Bbq Prawns

  1. Combine all seasoning mix ingredients (see ingredient list for specifics) in a food processor until finely ground. Set aside. Store any leftover seasoning mix in an airtight container for later use.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 cloves minced garlic, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning mix, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1 tablespoon honey, and 1 tablespoon soy sauce.
  3. Add 1 pound of prawns and 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley to the bowl. Gently toss to fully coat the prawns in the marinade.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
  5. Preheat oven to 500°F (260°C).
  6. Transfer the marinated prawns to a large, oven-safe skillet.
  7. Place the skillet in the preheated oven for 2-3 minutes. Shake the pan gently to ensure even cooking. Repeat after another 2-3 minutes. The prawns will begin to turn opaque and the sauce will bubble.
  8. Transfer the skillet to the stovetop over medium heat. Add 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) of butter, 1-2 teaspoons at a time, shaking the pan continuously. Allow each addition of butter to emulsify into the sauce before adding more. This process should take about 4-5 minutes.
  9. Once the prawns are cooked through and the sauce is thickened and emulsified, pour the prawns onto a serving platter. Serve immediately with crusty bread.
