How to Make 5 Minute General Tsos Chicken
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Arrange frozen chicken tenders in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy (check package instructions for recommended time and add 10 minutes).
- Reduce oven temperature to 200°F (95°C) and keep chicken warm.
- While chicken bakes, fill a medium pot with 1 inch of water and place a steamer basket inside.
- Bring water to a boil over medium-high heat. Add broccoli florets and season with salt.
- Cover and steam for 8-10 minutes, or until broccoli is tender-crisp.
- Keep broccoli warm.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together cornstarch, rice wine vinegar, soy sauce, honey, red pepper flakes, and 3 tablespoons of water until smooth.
- Set aside.
- Heat sesame oil in a small skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and ginger and sauté for 2 minutes, or until fragrant and softened.
- Pour in the cornstarch mixture and whisk constantly until it comes to a boil and thickens (about 1-2 minutes).
- Remove from heat and keep warm.
- Remove chicken from the oven and transfer to a large bowl.
- Add the steamed broccoli and sauce to the bowl. Toss gently to coat the chicken and broccoli evenly.
- Serve immediately over cooked white rice. Garnish with sliced scallions and toasted sesame seeds.
