Ingredients for All In The Kitchen Chili

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • Yellow Onions
  • Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato paste
  • Tomato Soup
  • Rotel Tomatoes
  • 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed (optional)
  • Water
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • Ground Cumin
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • Lettuce
  • Cheddar Cheese

How to Make All In The Kitchen Chili

  1. Brown 1 lb ground beef in a large pot over medium-high heat, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Add 1 large onion, chopped, to the ground beef when almost browned. Sautee for 5-7 minutes, until softened and wilted.
  3. Stir in 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes, 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce, 1 (15 ounce) can tomato paste, 2 tbsp chili powder, 1 tbsp cumin, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp oregano, ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional), 2 cups beef broth, and 1 tbsp salt.
  4. (Optional) Add 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed.
  5. Transfer the chili to a slow cooker. Cook on high for 2-3 hours or on low for 6-8 hours, or until flavors have melded and chili has thickened.
  6. Serve hot, topped with shredded cheddar cheese and crisp lettuce for a cool, refreshing contrast.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
