How to Make Almond Creme
- Bloom the gelatin: In a small bowl, sprinkle 1 tablespoon (1/4 ounce) of unflavored gelatin over 1/4 cup cold water. Let stand for 1 minute to soften.
- Dissolve gelatin: Add 1/4 cup granulated sugar (or use vanilla sugar for extra flavor!) to the gelatin mixture. Stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
- Prepare the hot water base: In a medium bowl, pour 1 cup of boiling water.
- Combine gelatin and hot water: Gradually whisk the gelatin mixture into the boiling water until smooth.
- Add milk and flavorings: In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 cups of milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon almond extract.
- Combine mixtures: Gently pour the milk mixture into the gelatin mixture, stirring constantly to combine.
- Pour into serving dishes: Divide the mixture evenly among four small serving dishes.
- Refrigerate: Refrigerate for at least 3 hours, or until the dessert is fully set.
- Garnish and serve: Before serving, peel and slice 1 kiwi fruit. Arrange kiwi slices and a handful of fresh strawberries over each dessert. Enjoy!
