Ingredients for Apple Bread Crock Pot

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Brown Sugar
  • Cooking Oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup applesauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • Apple
  • Warm Water

How to Make Apple Bread Crock Pot

  1. Grease two 1-pint straight-sided, wide-mouth canning jars well. Lightly flour the inside of each jar and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  3. In a separate small bowl, combine 1 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter), 2 large eggs, and 1/2 cup applesauce.
  4. Gently pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Stir in 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional).
  6. Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared canning jars.
  7. Cover each jar with greased aluminum foil, grease side down.
  8. Place the jars in your Crock-Pot. Add 1/2 cup of warm water to the bottom of the Crock-Pot, surrounding the jars.
  9. Cover the Crock-Pot and cook on high for 1-2 hours, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Carefully remove the jars from the Crock-Pot and let cool for 10 minutes.
  11. Run a knife or spatula around the edges of the bread to loosen it from the jars.
  12. Invert the jars onto a wire rack or plate to release the apple bread.
  13. Serve warm and enjoy!

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Chef's secret: layers of flavor make a dish truly memorable! Consider what a little extra something could bring – perhaps a touch of acidity like a good vinegar or citrus zest, a hint of smokiness from paprika, a bit of umami from mushrooms or soy sauce, or a sprinkle of toasted nuts for texture. Experiment and taste as you go!
