Ingredients for Aussie Works Burger

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • Onion
  • 4 large eggs
  • 4 slices Canadian bacon
  • 4 pineapple rings
  • Cheddar Cheese
  • Beets
  • Tomatoes
  • Lettuce Leaves
  • Ketchup, to taste
  • Dill Pickle Relish
  • Mayonnaise, to taste
  • Mustard, to taste
  • 4 Kaiser rolls

How to Make Aussie Works Burger

  1. Preheat an outdoor grill to high heat. Lightly oil the grilling surface.
  2. Divide the ground beef into four equal patties. Grill for 5 minutes per side, or until cooked through to your desired doneness.
  3. While the burgers grill, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the thinly sliced onion and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Remove the onions from the skillet and set aside. Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook over medium heat until the yolks are set, flipping once. Remove and set aside.
  5. Add the Canadian bacon to the skillet and cook until lightly toasted. Remove and set aside.
  6. Increase heat to high. Quickly fry the pineapple rings in the bacon drippings until lightly browned on each side, about 1-2 minutes total.
  7. To assemble the burgers, place the bottom halves of the Kaiser rolls on plates.
  8. Top each roll with a burger patty, a slice of cheese, a slice of Canadian bacon, a fried egg, some fried onions, a few slices of beet, a slice of pineapple, a slice of tomato, and a lettuce leaf.
  9. Add ketchup, mustard, relish, and mayonnaise to the top bun as desired.
  10. Place the top bun on the burger. Repeat with remaining ingredients.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Chef's secret: layers of flavor make a dish truly memorable! Consider what a little extra something could bring – perhaps a touch of acidity like a good vinegar or citrus zest, a hint of smokiness from paprika, a bit of umami from mushrooms or soy sauce, or a sprinkle of toasted nuts for texture. Experiment and taste as you go!
