- Add 1 medium onion, chopped, and 2 cloves garlic, minced.
- Sauté for 5-6 minutes, or until the onion is softened and translucent.
- Stir in 1 cup (200g) ketchup, 1/2 cup (120ml) maple syrup, 1/4 cup (60ml) apple cider vinegar, 2 tablespoons (30ml) Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon (15g) brown sugar, 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin, 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional), and 2 lemon slices.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
