How to Make Jack Daniel S Sauce

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Cut approximately 1/2 inch off the top of one head of garlic.
  3. Trim the root end so the garlic head sits flat.
  4. Remove the papery skin, leaving enough to hold the cloves together.
  5. Place the garlic in a small casserole dish, drizzle with 1 tablespoon olive oil, and cover with foil.
  6. Bake for 1 hour.
  7. While the garlic bakes, combine 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup pineapple juice, 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1/4 cup packed brown sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or more, to taste) in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat.
  8. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
  9. Reduce heat to a simmer.
  10. Once the garlic is cool enough to handle, squeeze the roasted cloves out of their skins.
  11. Add the roasted garlic to the simmering sauce along with 2 tablespoons Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey (or substitute with bourbon or other whiskey). Stir to combine.
  12. Simmer for 50 minutes, or until the sauce has reduced by half and thickened to a syrupy consistency. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking and burning. Do not boil over.
  13. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
