  • 9-12 lasagna noodles
  • 8 oz (225g) Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
  • 4 oz (115g) cottage cheese
  • Pasta Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt And Pepper
  • Frozen Broccoli
  • Frozen Spinach
  • 1/2 cup (75g) thinly sliced red onion (optional)

How to Make A Cheese Lasagna To Build On

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine 15 oz (425g) ricotta cheese, 8 oz (225g) Monterey Jack cheese (shredded), 4 oz (115g) cottage cheese, 1 large egg, 1/2 cup (60g) grated Parmesan cheese, 1/4 cup (30ml) chopped fresh parsley, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Mix well.
  4. Spread a thin layer of cheese sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  5. Layer 3-4 lasagna noodles over the cheese sauce.
  6. Optional: Add 1 cup (100g) chopped spinach (for Dad), 1 cup (100g) chopped broccoli and 1/2 cup (75g) thinly sliced red onion (for you).
  7. Spread another layer of cheese sauce over the noodles and vegetables. Repeat layers 2-3 times.
  8. Top with remaining lasagna noodles and the rest of the cheese sauce.
  9. Sprinkle with extra Parmesan cheese and optional mozzarella cheese.
  10. Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
  11. Bake for 45 minutes.
  12. Remove foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
  13. Let stand for 10-15 minutes before serving.
