How to Make American Curried Beef
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
- Stir in flour and curry powder until well combined. Cook for 1 minute.
- Add raisins and water. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low.
- Cover and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened.
- Stir in frozen peas, salt, and pepper.
- Heat through for another 2-3 minutes.
- Serve hot over a bed of cooked rice.
