Ingredients for Asian Burgers

  • Lean Ground Beef
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • Minced Ginger
  • Egg
  • Onions
  • Dry Breadcrumbs
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 kaiser rolls
  • Mayonnaise or your preferred sauce

How to Make Asian Burgers

  1. In a large bowl, combine 1 pound ground beef, 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion, 2 cloves minced garlic, 1/4 cup soy sauce, 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, 1 teaspoon grated ginger, and 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes. Gently mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into 4 patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked through and browned. For grilling, preheat your grill to medium heat and cook for the same amount of time.
  4. During the last minute of cooking, sprinkle the patties with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. While the patties cook, spread mayonnaise (or your preferred sauce) on the cut sides of 4 kaiser rolls. Assemble the burgers with your favorite toppings (suggestions below).
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Small additions can make a big impact! Try a sprinkle of fresh herbs, a dash of your favorite spice blend, or a squeeze of citrus just before serving to really enhance the flavors of your dish.
