How to Make Asian Sloppy Joes

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add 1/2 cup chopped onion, 2 cloves minced garlic, and 1 tablespoon minced ginger. SautƩ for 5 minutes, or until onions are softened and lightly browned.
  3. Add 1 cup chopped carrots and 1 cup chopped bell pepper (any color). SautƩ for 3 minutes more.
  4. Add 1 lb ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, for 5-7 minutes, or until no longer pink.
  5. Stir in 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained.
  6. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Elevate your dish with simple flavor boosters! A final flourish of freshly chopped herbs can add incredible brightness, while a squeeze of lemon or lime juice right before serving can awaken all the flavors. Don't underestimate a sprinkle of quality finishing salt or a drizzle of good olive oil to make your creation shine.
