Ingredients for Baked Stuffed Salmon

  • 1 (2-pound) salmon fillet
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • Bread
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter
  • Sweet Onion
  • Fresh Parsley
  • 8 slices bacon
  • Lemon

How to Make Baked Stuffed Salmon

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Dredge the salmon fillet (approximately 2 pounds) in 1/4 cup all-purpose flour, ensuring even coverage.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup bread crumbs, 4 tablespoons melted butter, 1/2 cup finely chopped onion, and 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley. Mix thoroughly.
  4. Stuff the salmon cavity generously with the breadcrumb mixture and secure with toothpicks.
  5. In a baking dish large enough to hold the salmon, arrange 4 slices of bacon evenly on the bottom.
  6. Place the stuffed salmon on top of the bacon. Arrange the remaining 4 bacon slices evenly over the salmon.
  7. Squeeze the juice of 1/2 a lemon evenly over the salmon.
  8. Bake for 75-90 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time will depend on the thickness of your salmon fillet.
  9. Remove from oven and carefully remove the toothpicks.
  10. Let the salmon rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing crosswise into 2-inch pieces.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
