Ingredients for Beef Bolognese Delish

  • Yellow Onions
  • Garlic Cloves
  • 2 stalks celery
  • Carrot
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt & Fresh Ground Pepper
  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • Beef Broth
  • Dry Red Wine
  • Dry White Wine
  • 28 ounces (2 (28 ounce) cans) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Fresh Thyme
  • Dried Oregano

How to Make Beef Bolognese Delish

  1. Pulse 1 large onion, 2 cloves garlic, 2 stalks celery, and 1 large carrot in a food processor until finely chopped.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium heat.
  3. Add the chopped vegetables and season with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add 1.5 pounds ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
  5. Pour in 1 cup beef broth, 1/2 cup dry red wine, and 1/4 cup dry white wine. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Stir in 28 ounces (2 28-ounce cans) crushed tomatoes, 2 tablespoons ketchup, 2 bay leaves, 2 sprigs fresh thyme, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper.
  7. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for at least 30 minutes, or up to 1 hour for a richer flavor. Stir occasionally and add more broth or crushed tomatoes if needed to adjust consistency.
  8. Remove bay leaves and thyme sprigs before serving.
  9. Serve the Beef Bolognese over your favorite pasta. Garnish with fresh parsley (optional). Enjoy!

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Elevate your dish with simple flavor boosters! A final flourish of freshly chopped herbs can add incredible brightness, while a squeeze of lemon or lime juice right before serving can awaken all the flavors. Don't underestimate a sprinkle of quality finishing salt or a drizzle of good olive oil to make your creation shine.
