How to Make Better Then Bush S Baked Beans
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the bacon until crispy. Remove bacon, reserving 2 tablespoons of bacon grease.
- Add the onion and bell pepper to the pot and sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
- Add the remaining ingredients (beans, molasses, brown sugar, mustard, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and reserved bacon grease) to the pot.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for at least 4 hours, or up to 6 hours for maximum flavor development. The longer it simmers, the better it tastes!
- Stir occasionally during cooking.
