Ingredients for Apple Oatmeal Bread

  • Brown Sugar
  • All Purpose Flour
  • Oatmeal
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Cinnamon
  • Ground Cloves
  • Ground Allspice
  • Ground Mace
  • Ground Ginger
  • Ground Cardamom
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Canola Oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups grated apples (about 2 medium apples)
  • Walnuts

How to Make Apple Oatmeal Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 cup rolled oats, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg, ½ teaspoon salt, and ¾ cup granulated sugar.
  4. In a separate bowl, lightly beat 2 large eggs.
  5. Add ½ cup vegetable oil and the beaten eggs to the dry ingredients. Stir until just moistened. Do not overmix.
  6. Gently fold in 2 cups grated apples (about 2 medium apples) and ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 60-75 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. If the top is browning too quickly, tent loosely with foil.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes.
  9. Remove the bread from the pan and let it cool completely on the wire rack before slicing.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Small additions can make a big impact! Try a sprinkle of fresh herbs, a dash of your favorite spice blend, or a squeeze of citrus just before serving to really enhance the flavors of your dish.
