  • 1 (15-ounce) can tomato paste
  • Diced Tomatoes
  • 15 oz tomato sauce
  • Fennel
  • Bay Leaf
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
  • Basil
  • Oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic Powder
  • Red Wine
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese + extra for garnish
  • Thyme
  • Paprika
  • Frozen Spinach
  • Pepperoni

How to Make Babzy S Spaghetti Sauce

  1. Brown 1 lb ground beef in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add 1 medium onion, chopped, and 2 cloves garlic, minced, and cook until beef is browned and onions are softened (about 8-10 minutes). Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Stir in 28 oz crushed tomatoes, 15 oz tomato sauce, 1 (15-ounce) can tomato paste, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, 1 teaspoon dried basil, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, 1 tablespoon sugar (optional), and 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional). Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and cook uncovered for 1-3 hours, stirring occasionally. The longer it simmers, the richer the flavor!
  3. Just before serving, stir in 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese.
  4. Serve over your favorite pasta (vermicelli is a personal favorite!).
  5. Garnish with extra Parmesan cheese and enjoy!

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
