Ingredients for One Pot Dinner

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 slices bacon
  • Onion
  • Pork And Beans
  • 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • Butter Beans
  • Ketchup
  • Brown Sugar
  • Liquid Smoke
  • White Vinegar
  • Salt
  • Pepper

How to Make One Pot Dinner

  1. Brown 1 lb ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off excess grease and set aside.
  2. Cut 4 slices bacon into small pieces.
  3. In the same skillet, cook bacon and 1 medium onion (chopped) until bacon is crispy and onions are softened. Drain off excess grease.
  4. Add the browned ground beef, cooked bacon and onions to your slow cooker.
  5. Add the remaining ingredients: 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained; 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained; 1 cup beef broth; 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce; 1 tsp garlic powder; 1 tsp onion powder; 1/2 tsp black pepper; 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional).
  6. Stir all ingredients until well combined.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, or until beef is tender. (For a 2-quart slow cooker, halve the recipe).
  8. Serve hot. Enjoy!

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
