How to Make Turkish Lamb Pita Burgers

  1. In a large bowl, gently combine ground lamb, ground turkey, onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, paprika, cinnamon, cayenne pepper (optional), salt, and pepper.
  2. Form the mixture into 4 patties (about 1/2 inch thick) or 12-15 meatballs.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked through. For meatballs, cook for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
  5. While the patties/meatballs are cooking, warm the pita bread according to package instructions.
  6. Spread yogurt sauce on the bottom halves of the pita bread.
  7. Place the cooked patties on the yogurt sauce. Top with your favorite vegetables and more sauce as desired.
  8. Serve immediately. If serving as meatballs, serve with the yogurt sauce on the side for dipping.
